SpecLine goes to Durham American Underground

While we were too late to hear Grimes and Odesza at the annual Moogfest Art & Technology Festival in Durham, it certainly was fun being a part of the cool kids club for a night. We took ourselves on a tour through the Durham American Underground, and got a true vision of what our sister site at The RTP Frontier is growing into! We are excited to come back soon and chat with the phenomenal startups just around the corner from us.

Open House

A month after the official move-in to our new RTP Frontier office, Josephine was ready to show off our awesome office decal and the infamous Sombrero, hanging beautifully above her water boiler (no, not the industrial kind). If you ever come by our office, be sure to peek around the corner and check it out!

Women in Entrepreneurship

Hosted by the NC State Alumni Entrepreneurs Network, speakers from local start-ups gave us the inside scoop on what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur. Since you asked, we’ll share some details… Turns out, being happy is a huge thing. Who knew! Delegation of work, proper time management, and honing in on your skills is the way to grow a business. It’s okay to ask for help. That’s where a team comes in. Don’t do everything just because you can—use your time to do what you’re best at, and build a team that supports all facets of a thriving company.

Comics for a Cure 5K

Happy National Free Comic Book Day! The team dressed up as the SpecLine Superheroes to run the annual Comics for a Cure 5K, benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We had a great time ‘SpecLining it’ past the finish line!

The Frontier RTP 180°: Women in Tech

To kick off our new home at the Frontier, the team was excited to attend the monthly RTP 180° event, which showcases speakers from local companies and the Triangle’s three founding universities. We had a chance to hear women’s stories about working and growing in both industrial and educational sectors around the triangle from women in the EPA, the department of Biomedical Engineering from both NC State and UNC-Chapel Hill, and fantastic founders of organizations promoting women and girls to explore their fit in STEM fields.

SpecLine Moves to the RTP Frontier

Our lease begins! The Sombrero is in place, and our new home is officially at the RTP Frontier. We look forward to settling in and taking advantage of all that the Frontier has to offer in the form of local food and loco fun. Check us out!

2016 ISPE-CaSA 23rd Life Sciences Technology Conference

The SpecLine Team attended the 23rd annual Life Sciences Technology Conference, hosted by the ISPE Carolina-South Atlantic Chapter at the Raleigh Convention Center. We were excited to showcase our new talents, grab some mac n’ cheese, and attend speaker series that showcased current challenges in process development operations and biologics.

The keynote address Morten Nielson, SVP of Diabetes API at Novo-Nordisk, provided many noteworthy details about the company’s new site expansion in Clayton, NC. We look forward to the innovations it will introduce to the industry, and we are ready to help make those changes happen!
